Volunteer Leadership Training

The VCSE sector already has a great track record in working with volunteers. In the current climate, with the cost of living crisis and the Pandemic affecting volunteer involving organisations in many ways, the latest training and resources are more important than ever.

We have reviewed our volunteer management training offer and are here to help you to ensure that you recruit the right volunteers for your organisation and manage them so as to harness their skills and experience effectively. A raft of new training launches this Autumn.

We have developed our new Volunteer Leadership Training around the Volunteer Journey.  The Volunteer Journey is how an organisation includes a diverse range of people to volunteer, ensuring that they feel supported and valued and ensures that you can measure their impact. This ensures an outcome that every volunteer has an enjoyable experience and tells others.

The new course is a fully comprehensive programme that offers participants the space to explore how best to plan, include, support and celebrate your volunteers, and how to ensure this is done within the legal definitions of volunteering. The programme also offers the opportunity to explore with other learners the challenges sometimes faced when managing / leading volunteers and how best to resolve / prevent this.

As well as general networking and group discussion / activity each participant will be assigned a fellow participant within the course to encourage peer mentoring. Upon completion of the course, participants will be given:

  • A certificate of completion.
  • An Interactive Volunteer Management Guide.
  • Volunteer Handbook
  • 1:1 support with a Volunteer Development Officer at CAS.
  • Peer mentor from the course
  • An action plan to enable you to consider next steps.
