Domestic Abuse, Stalking & Harassment (DASH) Risk Assessment Training for youth workers

Book this event

July 5 @ 9:15 am 2:30 pm

This session will be delivered face to face.

This session will train youth workers on how to carry out a comprehensive Domestic Abuse, Stalking & Harassment (DASH) Risk Assessment. This tool is used to determine whether a victim is High, Medium or Standard risk by the system and also feeds into the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC).

Course Description

This half day training session is aimed at equipping youth workers with the knowledge and confidence to complete DASH risk assessments and the processes around this.

The aims of a DASH risk assessment are:

  • To help frontline practitioners identify high risk cases of domestic abuse, stalking and ‘honour-based’ violence
  • To decide which cases should be referred to MARAC and what other support might be required. A completed form becomes an active record that can be referred to in future for case management
  • To offer a common tool to agencies that are part of the MARAC process and provide a shared understanding of risk in relation to domestic abuse, stalking and ‘honour-based’ violence
  • To enable agencies to make defensible decisions based on the evidence from extensive research of cases, including domestic homicides and ‘near misses’ which underpins most recognised models of risk assessment

Meet the Trainer

This training will be delivered by Teri Cudby, Domestic Abuse Champions Coordinator at Suffolk County Council.
