Introduction to safeguarding (Town & Parish Councils)
11th May 2021 @ 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm
Please note that this course will be delivered via Zoom
This is our highly effective Introduction to Safeguarding course but delivered Virtually. This is a fully interactive ‘live in real time’ training course facilitated by an experienced Trainer online.
Safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility and this course equips participants with the skills. judgement, knowledge and confidence to recognise and respond to signs of abuse.
The course is introductory training for those aged 18 and over from statutory, voluntary, independent and community organisations, who work across all sections of the community working with children and young people (specifically staff, including volunteers, who are in contact with vulnerable groups and who may become aware of possible abuse). This may include colleagues from community groups, faith groups, housing, community development roles, sports development staff and disability specialists.
It identifies the need for safe working practices with adults at risk of abuse and children, young people and families. It is interactive, informative and practical. It clearly demonstrates where the boundaries are for your role and how to access appropriate timely support.
Questions you will be able to answer
- What are the signs and indicators of different types of abuse?
- How do I respond appropriately to safeguarding issues?
- What are the contexts where abuse occurs that I need to be aware of?
