During the session you will be challenged to think beyond what’s needed for the traditional volunteer, gaining an understanding of today’s volunteers and what your organisation needs to have in place to give them a great experience. The session will look at formal and informal volunteering and includes the emergence of digital volunteering. Participants will spend time devising a clear action plan for their organisation and volunteers.
Questions you will be able to answer:
• What is Volunteer Management and why do (or don’t) people get involved?
• How to prepare your group to involve volunteers and attract the right kind of volunteers?
• How to turn interest into action, and get volunteers started in your organisations?
We promote the concept of the Volunteer Journey – Plan, Include, Support and Celebrate and cover this in two courses: Plan and Include (Part 1) and Support and Celebrate (Part 2). We recommend booking both to get the full benefit of understanding the Journey of managing volunteers.
In addition we offer courses on Innovative Approaches to Volunteering, Volunteers and the Law and Dealing with Challenging Volunteer Situations. These sessions will deepen your knowledge around volunteer management and creating a better experience for you, your volunteers and beneficiaries.
