  Please note: This course will take place online via Zoom This course is made up of 2 sessions which will run on Monday 4th & 11th October, 2pm – 4.30pm The deadline for applications is Monday 20th September  at 9am. Entry Requirements Participants must be aged 16+ Participants must be able to attend both sessions of the course. Course content This course gives participants some practical youth work skills and knowledge to build their confidence in understanding and using youth work methods. It will enable participants to develop their understanding of how they can engage effectively with young people in their role This course is also seen as preparation for the NOCN level 2: Theory of Youth Work qualification for those who wish to follow that route.    Methodology The course uses practical activities, reflective practice, some theoretical input alongside personal experiences to create an interactive and participative learning environment.   Questions you will be able to answer What are the key purposes, roles and principles of youth work? What is the role of youth work in the young person’s local community and how does a community affect young people? What are the skills, knowledge, qualities and values required to practice and how do mine compare   Please note The deadline for applications is Monday 20th September at 9am.  Applications for places will be reviewed after this date and we will then contact you via email.  Please keep the course date available until you hear from us. Organisations can apply for more than 1 place per course.  However, in the first instance, we will allocate 1 place per organisation, where applicants meet the course entry requirements.     Bespoke course offer This course can also be delivered exclusively for your organisation*.
