Volunteer Leadership Programme: The Complete Course

This course consists of 2 sessions and participants must attend both. These will take place on Monday 14th and Wednesday 16th November.
This Volunteer Leadership Programme is designed for those new to volunteer leadership and management at any level. If you lead volunteers or have responsibility for coordinating voluntary activity, then this is the course for you.
The programme enables participants to complete all of our Volunteer Leadership courses across 2 days, rather than booking each one individually:
- Volunteer Leadership: Volunteers and the Law
- Volunteer Leadership: Introduction to Volunteer Management
- Volunteer Leadership: Dealing with Challenging Volunteer Situations
The course is a fully comprehensive programme that offers participants the space to explore how best to plan, include, support and celebrate your volunteers, and how to ensure this is done within the legal definitions of volunteering. The programme also offers the opportunity to explore with other learners the challenges sometimes faced when managing / leading volunteers and how best to resolve / prevent this.
As well as general networking and group discussion / activity each participant will be assigned a fellow participant within the course to encourage peer mentoring.
By the end of this course:
Participants will be given:
- A certificate of completion.
- An Interactive Volunteer Management Guide.
- Volunteer Handbook
- 1:1 support with a Volunteer Development Officer at CAS.
- Peer mentor from the course
Upon completion participants will have a clear understanding how to structure their volunteer programme. They will complete an action plan within the session to enable them to consider next steps.
Each participant will be assigned a peer mentor from within the course to develop relationships and support networks.
Meet the trainer
Faye has over 20 years working within the Voluntary and Community Sector, Managing, Coordinating and Facilitating volunteers.
She is particularly interested in supporting leaders of volunteers create a user-friendly structured programme that is suitable for the individual group or organisation. Faye also understands the importance of connecting leaders of volunteers and how this can be a great support network for all involved.
This is a 2 day face to face course and participants are expected to attend both days.
This course includes lunch and refreshments.
