LEP and ESIF Committee

New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership area has a European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) sub Committee which determines applications to the Programme against local Strategic fit, and which was responsible for the development of the original European Investment Strategy in 2014, updated in 2016.

New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership

New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership works with businesses, local authority partners and education institutions to drive growth and enterprise in Norfolk and Suffolk.

The aim is to create inclusive economic growth by securing funds from government to help businesses grow, through the delivery of ambitious programmes to ensure that businesses have the funding, support, skills, and infrastructure needed to flourish and ensuring that the voice of our business community (in the widest sense) is heard, loud and clear.

The Economic Strategy for Norfolk and Suffolk sets out the ambition to grow our economy, create 88,000 new jobs and 30,000 successful new businesses.

This will be achieved by securing public and private investment and delivering a range of programmes and initiatives with partners, including the VCFSE sector, to improve infrastructure, skills and business support.

European Structural Investment Fund (ESIF) sub committee

Each Local Enterprise Partnership area has a sub-committee that provides implementation advice to the Managing Authorities for the ESI Fund Growth Programme in England.  Each Local Enterprise Partnership area ESI Funds sub-committee advises the Managing Authority for the programme (in East of England this is the Ministry for Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) for European Regional Development Fund, Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) for European Social Fund and Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) for European Rural Development Programme) on local growth conditions and priorities with regard to project call specifications, funding applications and implementation. Their advice is informed by ESI Fund Strategies in each Local Enterprise Partnership area and is framed within the context of Operational Programmes.

The Local Enterprise Partnership area ESI Funds sub-committee membership reflects the priorities of the Operational Programmes that apply in each area and the supporting local ESI Fund strategies. The membership also reflects, as far as possible, the breadth and diversity of partners involved in activities in the local area.
