From 1 November 2016, Suffolk County Council will cease to be the provider of the onesuffolk service and Community Action Suffolk (CAS) will become the new provider. The onesuffolk web hosting facility will not be disrupted by the transfer, and your domain name will remain the same.
This change is happening as Suffolk County Council can no longer continue to deliver the onesuffolk service, due to the cost and challenges associated with offering a bespoke website hosting facility.
onesuffolk is a pioneering website provider service that was developed in 2003 by a partnership of all the local authorities in Suffolk and the Police. Its aim was to provide support to the people of Suffolk by enabling parish councils, community and voluntary organisations to communicate information about their particular service or geographical area.
Since 2003 the onesuffolk service has been provided free of charge by Suffolk County Council. However, due to the cost and challenges associated with offering a bespoke website hosting facility, Suffolk County Council can no longer continue to deliver the service.
As part of the plan to secure the future of the service, CAS will be introducing a small annual charge. This charge covers a small fraction of the overall cost of running onesuffolk and is necessary to ensure the service can continue. Charges will be as follows:
Please complete our form to register to stay with the onesuffolk service, including your choice of payment method. Once CAS receives your completed online registration form they will ensure that your website is kept active pending receipt of payment.
You can also request a paper version of this registration form by calling CAS on 01473 345360 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
If you no longer want your site, please complete our form to register to leave the onesuffolk service. Once we have received your form we will process your request and your site will be removed by 31 October 2016.
Please note that unless you have registered to stay with the onesuffolk service or have registered to leave the onesuffolk service and asked to receive a copy of your content, we will not retain a record of your site’s content after the 1 November 2016. It is your responsibility to make sure that you have any information and files saved and backed up.
If we do not hear from you before the 1 November 2016, your site will be closed down and the content will be permanently deleted (no backups will be retained).
Please complete our New Customer Online Registration Form with your choice of payment method. An annual charge for the service will commence on 1 November 2016. The amount will depend on what type of organisation you are.
