Organisational Resilience for Village Halls and Community Buildings
Village Halls and Community Buildings have an important part to play in our rural and urban communities. Bringing people together to deliver a range of activities and services, they can be the lifeline for many communities around the UK.
This year has been tough for halls, as with most sectors. The imposed closure from the end of March until 4th July had a big impact on their ability to raise funds as well as providing a service within the community.
As volunteers now face the challenge of re-opening in an uncertain time, there are high levels of anxiety surrounding what they can and cannot deliver. There may be a need to adapt and meet further new requirements and measures and this conference aims to encourage and inspire all those involved with service delivery in community halls to persevere and keep going!
The East of England virtual village hall and community buildings conference on Monday 25th January 2021 will equip managers and trustees with skills and knowledge to increase confidence in going forward with their essential community services. A wide range of workshops will be available to support and inform managers of community halls during the challenging times ahead.
We have Lord Gardiner of Kimble, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for Rural Affairs and Biosecurity) delivering a keynote speech, as well as representatives from ACRE, who will be launching ‘Village Halls Week’ as well as highlighting the outcomes from the ACRE national survey, which is carried out every ten years.
The conference is being delivered by Zoom, which will enable us to deliver the conference in a safe way and ensure accessibility for people.
