The East Suffolk Volunteer Passport is a FREE accredited level 1 short course to encourage new people into volunteering.
The Passport will help learners to build their confidence, gain new skills and understand the variety of volunteer roles out there.
“Recommend this to everyone. All volunteers should do this course.”
What is involved?
Individuals will complete 6 sessions covering key skills needed to volunteer.
The topics include:
- Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
- Keeping yourself and others safe
- Health and safety
- Introduction to First Aid
- Person Centred Approach
- Volunteer Placement Brokerage by Community Action Suffolk
Once completed, the individual will be awarded an accredited Level 1 certificate and a Volunteer Passport ID badge. The ID badge is a way of recognising the achievements and commitment to their volunteer status and can be worn when volunteering.
If individuals are not already volunteering, Community Action Suffolk will offer a brokerage service to support skills and interests.
If a role requires a DBS check, it will be the organisation’s responsibility to organise this.
There is no age limit and the scheme is open to anyone who volunteers or is thinking of volunteering in the East Suffolk area. Previous qualification or experience is not necessary.
