Digital Support

We play out part and offer a range of digital support services to the wider VCFSE sector and beyond. These are shown in more details below.

Digital Inclusion

Many organisations find a number of barriers to embracing the use of digital and technology items. These barriers range from elements like staff training and knowledge, budget or location. We currently sit on the digital inclusion board, hosted by Suffolk County Council and on digital inclusion working groups to help promote and build capacity in projects that aid digital inclusion in Suffolk.

Part of our annual offering around digital inclusion is a set of 4 “digital clinics” which we are offering free to the general public. In 2026 these take the form of 2 digital webinars and 2 physical clinics. The digital webinar links are below and these cover 2 hot topics at the moment of online safety and basic digital skills. Please view them at a suitable time for expert advice around the 2 subjects.

Online Safety – https://youtu.be/FWKS3jaXd2o

The 2 physical clinics in 2026 are due to be held on Tuesday 23rd June between 2pm and 4pm and Tuesday 23rd August between 2pm and 4pm. Matthew Morling will be hosting 8 15 minute bookable slots on both these days so if you need IT Support, digital advice on any matter then please book a 15 minute slot with him via his email address [email protected]. Please note that we do not recommend turning up on the day without a booking as we can’t guarantee he will be available to see you. This is open to the general public and organisations alike.

Digital Blogs

One of the key elements of our digital support services are our bi-monthly digital blogs, written by our IT Manager Matthew Morling. These are highly informative, comment pieces, on key IT issues of the day offering free advice on a range of issues from AI to how to get the best value out of your IT infrastructure. Please find these blogs below.

Website Training

We provide bespoke 1:1 training sessions on the One Suffolk website platform and on WordPress websites that we build for our clients. These sessions are usually 2 hours in length and cost £60.00. Within the sessions we cover everything from adding, editing and deleting pages to how to use the in-built news and events system and much more.

Case Study

Digital Solutions Lab Workshop 25th Nov 2024 – Supporting Social Enterprises in Babergh & Mid-Suffolk

The Social Enterprise Support Project, run by Community Action Suffolk (CAS) and funded by Babergh & Mid Suffolk District Council, is dedicated to strengthening and supporting the social enterprise sector in the Babergh & Mid Suffolk areas. Through this project, CAS provides valuable resources to both new and established social enterprises, empowering them to thrive and make meaningful contributions to their local communities. The project offers tailored support, including workshops, specialist advice, networking opportunities, and resources that help social enterprises navigate business challenges and maximise their impact.

Community Action Suffolk (CAS) is a leading organisation that provides support to charities, social enterprises, and community groups in Suffolk. With a mission to help organisations within the voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) sector, CAS offers a wide range of services that include capacity-building, training, advice, and funding guidance. CAS works closely with local enterprises, helping them enhance their operations, grow their reach, and create lasting change.

As part of the Social Enterprise Support Project, CAS organised the Digital Solutions Lab workshop on 25th November 2025. This workshop aimed to provide social enterprises in the Babergh & Mid Suffolk region with practical digital tools and strategies to overcome business challenges and improve their operations. The session was led by Geraint Thomas, Director/Founder of Guided Innovation, and Matt Morling, IT Manager at CAS.

During the workshop, participants engaged in hands-on activities that allowed them to explore common business challenges and identify cost-effective digital solutions. Tools such as Beecon Found for client management, Power BI for data analysis, and Microsoft 365 for streamlining HR functions were introduced. These tools helped participants understand how they could implement digital solutions to improve workflows, enhance client engagement, and optimise business operations.
