CAS Helps Sizewell C In Major Boost To Suffolk Volunteer Numbers

As part of the CAS strategy of enabling VCFSEs to grow volunteer numbers, we are supporting Sizewell C’s community impact initiative, Doing the Power of Good for Suffolk Volunteering Scheme, that supports it’s staff in choosing volunteering roles of their choice, and undertaking them in worktime.

Employees are given an allocation of 15 work hours a year in which to assist good causes, and CAS has created the opportunity for them to select the most appropriate options by utilising the Volunteer Suffolk online matching platform in conjunction with a bespoke volunteering platform created just for Sizewell C employees. It works by VCFSEs posting volunteering vacancies on the portal so that Sizewell employees can browse to find what is best for them.

To support this, Sizewell has launched a short film promoting the benefits of staff volunteering, including the positives of extending it by undertaking volunteering in their own time. Please use this link to view the video https://f.io/RZAZOp7i

‘We are delighted to back this project,’ says CAS Chief Executive, Hannah Reid. ‘It will lead to thousands of extra hours of employer supported volunteering in Suffolk, give VCFSEs access to professionals and those from skilled trades they would not ordinarily have, and the real possibility that employees will choose to continue their voluntary support in the long term.’

Partnerships in Action – Sizewell C

For VCFSEs to take advantage of this new opportunity, all they have to do is register their volunteer requirements via the Volunteer Suffolk platform by visiting  Volunteer Roles – Volunteer Suffolk , or directly via Partnerships in Action – Sizewell C .
