‘Let’s Talk’ Volunteering – East Suffolk (Felixstowe) is a facilitated networking session for the local Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise sector leads.

East Suffolk Council, working in partnership with Community Action Suffolk, are offering the opportunity to VCFSE organisations to attend Let’s Talk Volunteer network events in two areas of the district.
Places are fully funded for VCFSE organisations delivering organisational support within East Suffolk and will offer guided network opportunities that encourage: – open discussion and sharing of real-life volunteer management experiences – build connections with other local organisations, creating opportunities for collaboration, shared solutions and joint working – explore practical approaches to strengthening volunteer journeys

Discussions will focus on operational issues such as: – recruitment and retention – benefits of partnership working – free use of Volunteer Suffolk to advertise and manage volunteers

Please note, this 90min network event is open to a maximum of 20 attendees on a first come first serve basis, with one place available per organisation per event*.

The volunteering team at Community Action Suffolk will be facilitating this session. They have experience in volunteer leadership and have a wide knowledge about the sector not only from the perspective of leading volunteers, but also from the being volunteers themselves.

There is ample parking on site. The entrance to the clubhouse is to the left of the tennis courts.

Disabled access: This is located at the front of the building. Please contact the team in advance, to make us aware, and we will ensure we meet you to guide you to this entrance from the carpark area.

Transport:

By Train: Felixstowe has a train station situated 0.7 miles from the venue. Please check for times.

TRAINING FORMAT

There will be a maximum of 16 candidates plus up to two staff from Community Action Suffolk.
Participants will be seated at tables in small groups. The whole session is delivered in one room.
A PowerPoint presentation is used for the training, but this is purely a guide for the trainer and not something candidates will need to read themselves.
Please bring notepad and pen, if you wish to take personal notes.

All resources needed for the session will be sent digitally prior to each session. Where appropriate, printed copies will be made available.

Some basic refreshments (tea, coffee, water), will be available on the day. If you have more specific preferences for your refreshment, you are welcome to bring your own along.
