Suffolk’s charity and voluntary groups are being urged to take part in the county’s State of the Sector Survey, to ensure their needs are taken into consideration in future budget and support planning. In addition, participants have a chance of winning £1,000 by taking part.
The survey, conducted by Community Action Suffolk (CAS) in collaboration with Suffolk Community Foundation, is taking place to ensure the needs of the county’s Voluntary, Community, Faith & Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector is comprehensively understood, and addressed in the planning of support and funding strategy. Survey results will also provide partners both in and out of the charity and voluntary sector, with important data that can be used to influence, lobby and advocate decisions and policy making locally, regionally and nationally.
For the first time, the survey will place particular focus on one key element of charity or voluntary activity, and this year it will be on volunteering. This is in response to its rapid decline since Covid.
‘I encourage every VCFSE organisation, however big or small, to complete and submit the survey form to make sure their needs are understood and properly represented, ‘says CAS Chief Executive, Hannah Reid. ‘It is important for us to be able to undertake support planning based on accurate assessment of needs, and make budgets work as effectively as possible.’
All participating organisations who complete the survey in full will be entered into a draw* to win £1,000, and will receive a copy of the resulting survey findings.
