Community Action Suffolk’s national body, ACRE, has worked in partnership with local data consultants, OCSI, on the Evidencing Rural Need project.
The aim of this project is to show the socio-economic picture of rural England, including its areas of deprivation, economy and access to services. Seven types of report have been produced (examples available here)
The key report for communities is a Parish Profile, of which there is one for every parish in England.
Parish Profiles are particularly relevant for communities looking to carry out some form of community consultation or a Neighbourhood Plan. They pull together data at parish level into one report that is comprehensive (example report available here).
Each profile is broken down into 8 themes:
- Social and cultural
- Equity and prosperity
- Economy
- Housing and the built environment
- Transport and connectivity
- Services
- Environmental
- Governance
