It was an opportunity to hear from some amazing and inspiring community champions. We met organisations who inspired us and may be able to support us on our journey out of Covid.
Community Action Suffolk and Ipswich and Suffolk Council for Racial Equality (ISCRE) teamed up to offer an online (ZOOM) event aimed at people working on the ground, making a difference and responding to local need. This event gave the opportunity to share our journeys, our plans and our ambitions as we move forward from Covid. It was an opportunity to chat with organisations about their challenges and successes during the Pandemic with a focus on how to access funding, explore experiences of working with volunteers during Covid and looking at who else we can can link with/work with to help with this.
Groups attending this event hopefully went away with a better understanding of where they could get support, and how other similar groups have tackled issues such as funding, how to form and run a community group, and what can be done to address the issues and barriers that we may all experience coming out of Covid. It was also an opportunity to share what support is wanted from other organisations. This event was targeted at grass roots organisations who serve our diverse multicultural communities.
