Suffolk Community Food project is a 3-year project that has been set up to support community food projects and local communities to tackle the wider issues around food insecurity.
Our team are funded by Suffolk Public Sector Leaders (SPSL) and District Councils, and our work feeds into the SCC Tackling Poverty Action Plan
Each District in Suffolk has a dedicated Community Food Officer and some districts also have a Food Network Officer. Their roles are to support community food projects with the things they need to be well run and sustainable, as well as developing local food networks in their area. More widely, they look at bigger issues affecting food security in Suffolk and explore possible solutions.
We also have an Emergency Food Provision Officer who arranges supplies of food and non food items to community food projects across Suffolk.
