Suffolk Community Food project is a 3-year project that has been set up to support community food projects and local communities to tackle the wider issues around food insecurity.
Our team are funded by Suffolk Public Sector Leaders (SPSL) and our work feeds into the SCC Tackling Poverty Action Plan
Each District in Suffolk has a dedicated Community Food Officer. Their roles are to support community food projects with the things they need to be well run and sustainable, as well as developing local food networks in their area. More widely, they look at bigger issues affecting food security in Suffolk and explore possible solutions.

Our Work
Our team’s work falls into two strands:
Suffolk Community Food Network
- Develop local food networks
- Support community food projects across Suffolk to be resilient and sustainable
- Explore community-based solutions around food security
Suffolk Food Partnership
- A cross-sector countywide partnership working towards Suffolk becoming a Sustainable Food Place
