The aim of the course is to engage people in the conversation around cancer in a measured way, in a safe environment.
It will be in the form of a card game that introduces attendees to case scenarios, different types of cancer, the impact of cancer and most importantly where/how to find help in Suffolk and Nationally.
Attendees will be able to answer the question:
How do I talk about cancer in an environment that doesn’t deal with cancer on the day to day?
How do I engage my community actively to engage in the conversation around cancer and not avoid it?
How do I ensure the conversation results in delivering a positive message and not induce fear?
I do I remove the taboo from the conversations around cancer?
Attendees will be equipped to deliver the Let’s Talk workshop to community groups and services users.
The aim is to remove the taboo around the subject of cancer and equip people to talk about cancer openly in the knowledge that being aware of cancer helps to seek help and support at the right time.
