Fuel Poverty Awareness Day (17 February)

FPAD-LOGO

Community Action Suffolk (CAS) supports today’s Fuel Poverty Awareness Day (17 February 2017).

This marks the end of National Energy Action’s Warmer Homes Campaign, highlighting that around four million UK households are still unable to access equal life chances because they live in a cold, damp home.

In Suffolk it is estimated that 1 in 11 households* are in fuel poverty (excluding Ipswich), of those not on the mains gas network.

CAS can help those homes in Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire which rely on buying heating oil. We reduce the high cost of oil of by bringing these communities together and ordering in bulk.

CAS consistently delivers lower costs, a reduction in heavy tanker traffic throughout the countryside and high quality customer service to its members. Members can place orders online, or speak to someone on the phone. One recent customer said:

“Just had my first delivery of oil under the scheme – completely smooth operation and a huge saving over what we were paying last year. Many thanks to you for your efforts!”

There is an annual membership fee, starting at £20, which covers administration of the scheme. Any surplus goes back into the charitable work of CAS, working with communities throughout the county.
