It’s spring, time to clear out your wardrobe as Talent Match New Anglia Core Youth Panel launches “New-U”, a clothes recycle project

The New-U project has 3 aims:

  • Items will be made available to the young people the project supports and any other young adult between the ages of 16 and 30 who cannot afford to buy suitable clothes for an event such as a job interview or occasion where smart clothes are needed.
  • ‘Clothes swap’ events in the Kings Lynn, Ipswich, Lowestoft and Norwich area for any age groups, whereby people can donate clothing they no longer need, and take away a whole new wardrobe of clothes and accessories for themselves and their children and families
  • Customisation workshops where Talent Match young people gain skills and explore their creativity to re-vamp and customise donated clothing into unique and wearable items

The project needs to build stock of clean, wearable used items and accessories. Please would you ask friends, colleagues and family to donate clothing and accessories that they may be thinking of donating to charity, to New-U.

The project is looking for items suitable for any age, including babies and children. They can collect from Ipswich, Waveney, Norwich or Kings Lynn areas but we are only a small team so ideally please drop off bags at The Open, Norwich.

Donations can also be left at The Prince’s Trust office in Ipswich (please let Sue Buffin, area manager, know before dropping off so she can make sure someone is in to receive them), North Lynn Discovery Centre, Kings Lynn and The Kirkley Centre, Lowestoft.

If you ‘d like to know more about Talent Match or New-U,  email or call Sue Buffin on  07733 190728 [email protected].
