Title: Maximising Charity Property Assets: Top tips on business leases

In this session you will learn about the key stages involved in and terms of a business lease.  The session will be relevant to charities taking or granting leases of business premises.  We will also look at how to comply with charity law in the context of taking or granting a business lease. This will be an interactive session with case studies but no prior knowledge is needed. (Note: this session will not cover residential leases)

Speaker: Louisa Saunders, Birketts

Louisa is a Senior Associate property lawyer who specialises in advising charities on all their property requirements. A member of Birketts Charities and Social Enterprise sector team, she provides specialist advice on property issues to the third sector. Louisa is experienced in all main aspects of commercial property legal work, including: acquisition and disposal of commercial premises, negotiating leases for landlords and tenants, development sites, leasehold portfolio management issues and advising Banks taking mortgage security over land and buildings.
