Over 30 groups develop partnerships at the Eye Community Centre

Eye 7th October 2014

Tuesday 7th October 2014 saw the coming together of over 30 local Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) groups for a Community Action Suffolk network event at the Eye Community Centre.

The organisations listened to presentations from:

  • Tom Barker – Mid Suffolk District Council Corporate Manager for Stronger Communities
  • Gavin Talbot – Suffolk County Council Our Place Officer.

These were followed by a question and answer session and discussing local issues.

The attendees also engaged with the opportunity to move into smaller groups to discuss funding and volunteering with support from Community Action Suffolk Officers Glenn Hubbard, Louise Fairbrother and Robert Horn.

Evaluations of the event again showed the VCS appreciates and values these networking opportunities to learn about each others’ work and develop valuable partnerships.

Our next VCS Locality Networking meeting for Babergh & Mid Suffolk will be held on 4th November 2014 in Hadleigh at the Ansell Centre.

This is currently being developed so if you’re a VCS group and have ideas for what you’d like to hear about, please do get in touch – more details about the event will be on our website soon.
