Sign up today! The Workshadowing Across Sectors scheme for chief executives and senior managers has reopened for autumn 2015 and is inviting new participants.

Following on from the success of the first intake of workshadowing participants in June 2015, Suffolk Congress, Community Action Suffolk, Suffolk County Council and the Clinical Commissioning Groups of Ipswich and East Suffolk and West Suffolk are providing another great opportunity for Chief Executives and Senior Managers to take part in a cross sector work shadowing scheme.

Melanie Chew, Chief Executive of Community Action Suffolk, said, “too often we are working in silos within our own organisations, dealing with challenges that are affecting us all. This scheme provides an opportunity for us to experience first-hand some of the day to day challenges of colleagues in other sectors, build relationships and share ideas on how the VCS and Public Sector can work together to achieve better outcomes for the people of Suffolk.”

Why get involved?

We understand that your time is precious and limited, however investing around a day (or two half days) of your time will have the following benefits:

  • Improve cross sector understanding of the role and responsibilities of staff within the public and voluntary sectors
  • Develop an understanding of the challenges that both sectors face and share ideas on how the VCS and public can work more effectively together
  • Provide an opportunity for you to make some valuable contacts and experience first-hand the day to day work, practices, and decision making rationale

The event will be held on the 24 September 2015 from 9am to 11:30am at Suffolk Food Hall.
