Parent & Child Groups Suffolk

Introduction

We believe that all families should feel supported, and that every child is given the best opportunities to grow, develop and thrive.

Those first years of life are precious, and we want to ensure that all families have somewhere to go to access social opportunities for themselves and their child within their local community.

Our mission is to find out what Parent and Child groups are already running within Suffolk and to provide them with ongoing support and guidance. We also want to identify any settings that were running pre-covid and have failed to reopen due to a change in circumstances, whether that be a lack of funding, setting availability or volunteer shortages. We can then support you in those areas to try and get your setting back up and running.

We would love to see an increase of settings available within Suffolk and for those settings to be a hub for their local community to be a part of. We want families feeling less isolated and given more opportunities to engage with their children in safe, encouraging environments.

Training and Development

We have a range of training and development opportunities including Safeguarding, Supporting Volunteers, Governance, Sustainability and Health and Wellbeing.

You can browse training opportunities on our Training and Development page.

1:1 Surgeries are also offered; these can be online or telephone surgeries to support with any specific issues or support required. To book onto a 1:1 surgery, please click on this link above.

Volunteering

We know that volunteers are essential in the running of Parent and Child groups and without them settings are unable to run.

If you are considering how to develop volunteering within your setting, or check you have the right policy and support in place for volunteers then please look at the link below. Community Action Suffolk has a specialist Volunteer Team and resources available to help you.
